Apple Blossom Learning Tree

Our year-round program embraces the idea that children learn, remember, perform and understand in different ways. The Early years are very special. They are a time of “firsts”. The first time away from Mommy or Daddy, being with other children and meeting strangers. That’s why Apple Blossom chose the Early Years Curriculum and the Creative Curriculum. Together, they help children experience success as they participate in activities that allow them to explore and learn while playing and engaging in structured and imaginative lessons.

TODDLERS
Toddlers are here, there, and everywhere! The curriculum for our Toddlers allows for this and encourages it, using:

Activities that encourage physical skills such as throwing, stacking and building
Musical instruments
Intentional learning centers that aid in the discovery of their senses
Developmentally appropriate practices that encourages sharing and independence.
Nursery rhymes, poems, finger play, vocabulary, and open ended discussions to build language skills.

In addition to keeping them engaged, our staff helps our toddlers with feeding, toileting, and dressing. Our toddlers learn how to exercise their right to choose which results in them becoming more independent and self-confident. The teachers act as facilitators while assisting children in maximizing their experiences in art, music, language literacy, pretend play and exploration areas.
Toddlers blossom as they build trusting relationships with other children. They learn when they are free to explore in a safe and stimulating environment.

PRESCHOOLERS
Preschoolers are excited and inquisitive. They are passionate and enthusiastic. They cannot wait to learn. At Apple Blossom we use this insatiable need to learn to our advantage. Using monthly and weekly themes captures the children’s curiosity while promoting social, emotional, language, reading, math, social studies, science and art and imaginative play. The Curriculum combines both structured as well as learning and discovery centers into its everyday lessons. Using techniques inspired by Maria Montessori, children are able to move freely about the Preschool classroom, allowing for exploration and expression. While using learning centers and whole class activities, children learn to function in structured and unstructured groups. Learning takes place informally and in teacher directed small groups.

In addition, we instill in them a love for the environment by recycling and conducting mini lessons on the importance of preserving our planet. Our children fully understand that they too play a role in taking care of our earth.
